I found an economics def'n of asset involving growth - which would clearly eliminate cash (usually).
I expect that like many specialized areas, ordinary words are used in different ways, leading to confusion. They should use Greek like us biologists. |

I don't play the market so I'm not savvy at all. Is the Dow or nasdaq adjusted for inflation? IOW is todays 14,000 equivalent to say 12,000 8 years ago?
