Place to Live in SoCal
Looking for a studio or 1 bedroom. Garage is my primary concern. Looking to spend less than $1000 per month.
:( |
Um, SoCal is kinda big. Like as big as most states, actually. Can you be more specific? You can get a frickin' palace for $1000 per month. You'll just have to live far away from other people.
|
Malibu or San Bernardino? You need to be a bit more specific.
|
sorry, close to irvine/newport beach.
thx |
I WANT to be away from other people as much as possible with a somewhat decent commute
|
kinda got a lot of crap going on right now
if anyone can help me out please PM me thx |
You can start hitting Craigslist to get an idea of what's around. There's also an organization, Westside Rentals, though I think you might have to pay a subscription to access the listings. Some realtors will help, though because they comparatively make so little in these rental listings it's a bit difficult to get good help sometimes.
Away from people and decent commute don't always compute around here. Away from people and cheap, yes. |
already looking. Really don't want to rent a room. Guess it's Vermont for me.
|
Good luck finding anything under $1,000 in Newport Beach. That's prime real estate. Irvine area should be doable. You also should mention where the commute would be. Living in Irvine and commuting to Thousand Oaks everyday would suck royally.
|
$1200 will get you a crap apartment with no garage. Sorry, but just being realistic.
|
Do you drive your Porsche daily / only car? Otherwise, I'd just put it in storage and get a room that doesn't have a garage.
Also, if you move to a half way decent area, why worry about a garage? Your car should be fine outside if there is parking off the street in a driveway etc. I would motel it immediately to clear whatever situation you are trying to resolve and take my time finding a decent mid-term living solution. Sorry to hear things aren't well. It seems there's a bit of that around.
|
how about a gun for <1000 bucks?
|
Dan Aykroyd says to Bo Diddley, "How much for the gun?"
|
There's tustin, somehwat affordable ~$1000/mo.
Santa Ana, definitely below and above $1000/mo. Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, around $1000/mo. Irvine and Newport will start $1200 and up real fast. More like $1500 and up. You can rent a room in a house, Costa Mesa, Newport Mesa are not too bad. OC has higher cost of living overall. Just don't decide to rent someplace north of the 5 or too far down the 405 - you will spend a good deal of time in traffic if you work normal hours. |
In or near newport of Irvine $1000 a month will get you a converted one car garage, to live in.
Besides, you wouldn't like it there anyway. Most of OC is waaaay too conservative ;) |
Under $1k in So. Cal? Hope you like mariachi music...
|
Or consider looking at South Chino Hills or Corona and commuting down the Riverside Freeway
|
I can't imagine finding anything at that price in Newport. Irvine may be a stretch too. Renting a room out may be your best deal at that price point. Some lower cost apartments in Huntington.
Good luck, use zillow. |
