Mini-bike guys help!!

Hello Peeps.. I have a cheesy doodle bug bike i bought for the kid from an auto parts store. runs great but got a new clutch... it seems to be jamming and stalls bike all the time.

whe bike is warm and idling nicely, the clutch seems to drag and engage by itself.. .you hear this badly cscraping noise and bike lurches forward and then it stalls... if you start it again same thing happens.. however the idle is not drifting up at all so does not seem to be engaging clutch..

should i lube inside of cliutch cylinder? does not seem like smart thing to do....
very strange

any suggezstions?

thanks frank

btw chain is NOT too tight

could it be the alignment of clutch and sprocket?

It's the bushing in the clutch. Lube it in a way that the lube doesn't flow out onto the shoes when it gets hot. You should be able to separate the drum part after removing a circlip.

I think your recoil starter is out of lubricant, and actually lurches forward when it refuses to spin freely like it should while the motor is running. This has happened to me several times on recoil motors.

I agree with Zeke check the bushing or bearing depending clutch type first. If they are not dry, the shoe springs may be too light for the HP of your motor. If the clutch is a disk type, you can adjust the springs (tighten) to change (raise) the engagement rpm.
