Yea, most don't really want a career, they just want a steady paycheck. ;)
And having a regular paycheck is really handy!

In his final years my Dad got around on a electric scooter. The assisted living facility had one elevator and Dad would always park right at the doors and completely block the exit for those getting off. The doors would open and he would just push his way in. Good times :o

Good idea - I should have done that. Who would have thought you would have to have a strategy for entering a store. Maybe IKEA and Amazon are on opposite ends of the shopping spectrum.

People that ask you a question, but have already decided what answer they want. A new girl at work asked how I made the productivity stats set for our department. I told her until you get a feel for things, you rush around like a maniac, but once you learn the products finding things goes quickly. "No, I mean, what's the trick? The shortcut?" "There isn't one - that's what I do." Eyes me dubiously. "Sure..."

It kills me how many people refuse to believe hard work could possibly be the answer.

Patience is one of those virtues I have come to appreciate as an absolute essential in how to enjoy life better.

It's not easy though - I have my moments!

The work question I've got patience for - I have less for this conversation:

"Wow, you're in really good shape, man; what do you do?"
"I exercise for - "
"Oh. I don't have time for that."

WHY did you ask?! What other possible answer could there be? "Yeah, it turns out if you eat Taco Bell every day, three times a day, you actually get into shape!" :rolleyes:

Less than 1 second after the President finishes speaking, all the talking heads in the MSM rushing to start bashing what they didn't like. I guess they think that Americans are too stupid to understand what was said so they have to tell us what we should think.

One NBC commentator was throwing out slurs as the POTUS was about to speak and even kept speaking as the POTUS began his speech.

When merchants sell things they don’t actually have and a follow up call reveals a 5 week delay.

Here people drive across the double yellow down the street leaving a good 6' of clearance between them and the parked cars. If you are that bad at judging distance, please don't drive. The buses are the worst. I could drive on their side between them and the parked cars, literally.

I also hate puling up to an intersection and find people cutting the corner into my lane and then give me a dirty look because I nearly hit them. People like this make me hope they are the first to get a self driving car so I can mess with it.

^^^Geez - mark me down for that pet-pi$$-off. Too many ass-hats in their 4 x 4's & SUVs (at least around here) haven't a clue as to the actual place in space of their vehicles while they're 'supposedly driving' them. Also
to "flipper's" 2nd point - the incompetents who insist on making a right angled street corner into some sort of curve to be taken at speed. Another board member (don't have his name at hand) has suggested a driver's licence is just too damned easy to obtain - too true!

Stuck in traffic this morning because another idiot spun out and hit a guard rail and maybe another car. Blocked two lanes of traffic because he couldn't pull to the side after the hit.

I despise the gas station coffee cup lid systems.

You cant lift them off because they are tapered. You end up touching the ones below yours and the next person gets to put their lips on whatever you fingers have been in.

As well as I get about five sets of finger germs in my mouth from the peeps before me.
