People who do not understand the mechanics of guitar string pins and because the string keeps popping the pin out of the hole in the bridge, force it in so hard it either splits the bridge or requires pliers to remove.

People on cellphones, non-stop, at the gym
Are you running a business or working out ?
Please decide

People who go the gym instead of using their time and energy to do something constructive

I use my neighbor's garbage cans all the time. However, I put out 3 neighbors cans, every week, and I put them back after pickup.

My neighbor is Jewish - this is what he put out for Christmas decoration but added a Santa hat.

Lazy bums don't need to bother taking down Christmas lights anymore. Now that they're programmable LED, red/grn Christmas lights can become yellow lights by Easter, Red/white/blu for Independence Day, and orange for Holloween. They have fully stocked mancaves with fridges and flatscreens.

People who think it is up to you to move when they merge into traffic.

Buying a $4 head of iceberg lettuce and one quarter is already rotten.

'Push elements' on websites. They bring back the horror of spam popup windows from the 1990s-2000s internet.
Some unrelated video starts automatically playing at the top.
You scroll down. The video follows and can't be gotten rid of.
I wasn't even looking for that.

Today's pet peeve?

Off Topic Threads filled with stoopid posts which add nuthin' but more of the same...

I'll get over it ... or not :D

Around 1980, after Christmas, we had an employee from Iran, who was told to take down the tree and lights. He pitched the tree in the garbage without taking off the lights.

I’ve noticed, lettuce seems to be smaller, and has less leafs on them. I know manufacturers have been downsizing the amount of product in a box, but how the hell do you downsize the size a head of lettuce?

If this was a pet pee thread, I would complain about the puppy that woke me up just after midnight so I could take her out to do her business. Fortunately it was several degrees above freezing with no wind.

I don't like flashlights that have 4 settings. Does anyone actually use the blinking light function. I just want on and off, that's it!

stevej37 12-18-2025 10:11 AM

I own and use four diff flashlights. Two of them I have to cycle thru the diff settings.
The other two I have to hold the button down for about 2 seconds to shut it off.

I'm always trying the wrong thing whichever I'm using. (50/50 chance...not)
I never use the blinking light.

Even if I clear all the snow off my vehicle, when I go to open the drivers door snow winds up on the drivers seat

We made two trips from La Crosse to Cannon Falls MN this weekend. It was warm, well above freezing, but there was snow on the ground. This made the whole interstate from La Crosse WI to Rochester MN to be enveloped in fog. 100, maybe 200 yards of visibility. The number of people driving without lights was remarkable. I don't know if it's the prevalence of automatic headlights or just ignorance, but there were a lot of cars that would just appear out of the fog and zoom past us, and just as quickly disappear into the fog.

There was one Mercedes that flew by with lights, including a rear fog light on. I could see him a half mile ahead of me. I also saw three cars with yellow fog lights. I thought they had all but disappeared.

When driving on the highway during a snowstorm having to deal with people that drive with their hazard lights on.
Even the local police are posting on X not to do it

I will add on a multi-lane highway sometimes there will be cars in 2 or 3 lanes with their hazard lights on

oldE 01-01-2026 05:04 AM

Interesting. The major highway around here have signs requiring the use of 4 way flashers below 70 kph. Of course if visibility is that bad, it's best to get off the road.

Zeke 01-01-2026 10:48 AM

The constant use of flashers negates vehicles actually in distress. It's sort of a double edged sword.
It's like if brake lights are constantly on when is the car braking?

F1 uses constant flashers and braking flashers, IIRC. I'm sure they are informed.
