Karaoke much?
I think it must be part of Filipino culture to sing Karaoke. I swear every party I attended over the holidays where there were Filipinos, they had a machine with them. I actually think it livens parties quite a bit. Anyone else like singing Karaoke?
|
I have never and will never sing karaoke ! I think if a party I was at went that way, it might be time to leave......my wife concurs BTW.
|
I've done it. It's fun but once was enough.
|
No way. Not gonna happen. There is not enough beer to get me drunk enough.

Karaoke is huge in Asian cultures. I've been to karaoke places in China that are as large as a mid-rise office bldg. in the US with enormous staffs and state of the art equipment. Filipinos are also the main ethnic group you see performing in bar bands in China and probably much of the rest of Asia.
I got Mrs. Lee a karaoke machine last Xmas. You can hook your iPhone up to it, look up the karaoke version of whatever song you want on Youtube and then have the lyrics stream across the tv screen, while singing along. Pretty cool. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1357449991.jpg |
Hey Rick, did you get it onine? What's the brand and model #? TIA.

We have a full DJ system at home with over 6000 karaoke songs. The parties go so long we have to kick our friends out. Some people are really good, some not so much, but everyone has a great time.
The equipment cost isn't too bad. It's the karaoke music that is expensive. Comes out to about $0.50/track on average. |
Never did. Every time I have experienced it everyone was drunk off their ass and the only people enjoying it were the singers. I don't drink that heavily any more, otherwise I may enjoy it!?

People that are seriously into karaoke don't drink alot.

I don't get it. Go sing in a band if you are serious about singing.

Amazon.com: Singing Machine iSM1028Xa 7-Inch Color TFT Display CDG Karaoke Player: Musical Instruments However, it stopped working already and I'm pretty sure I've found a way to make a better one for just a few bucks. You can buy one of those adapters to run your iPhone into your tv for $7, basically making the tv a big monitor for Youtube videos running on your iPhone. Then get a cheapo mic and amp/speaker or run it through your home entertainment sound system. You shouldn't have to spend a dime on music. You can get it all on Youtube for free. Obviously, you want wi-fi to cut down on the bandwidth usage on your iPhone. Or, if you have a smart tv, you can probably do it all that way. Very easy stuff if you don't need to have professional grade. |

A buddy and I tried to pull off the Song remains the same after a long night of partying many years ago. It was horrible. Someone tossed a bottle at us. That was my first, and last time

Never.
Any time I sing in public, I am sober and have my guitar. Best Les |

Tried it once back in the early nineties. It was in a Black Angus lounge. Someone in the audience heckled me & it turned into a big ruckus. I guess I'm too sensitive when heavily intoxicated.

I sang Big Balls at a gathering of Mrs. Lee's co-workers at a local cougar bar. Her boss's husband is from Australia and a huge AC/DC fan. He loved it.

They also like to sing slow, boring songs like "My Heart Would Go On." If I do any karaoke, I like more up tempo songs like "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," which is a lot of fun to sing (and so much easier compared to the other Queen songs). |
