Flu shot...do you?

I keep hearing about flu shots on the local news (shortages, etc.) so I assume Paris Hilton hasn't done anything "newsworthy" this week :D. Do you guys/gals get them on an annual regular basis? Made it this far without one...probably never will.

MMiller 01-11-2013 07:03 AM

No...

onewhippedpuppy 01-11-2013 07:04 AM

Never did until getting married. Now the wife makes us all get one. This week I got a wicked strain of the flu, but the wife tells me the shot is only for the "bad" flu. This one was pretty damn bad.

yep, every year.

Rikao4 01-11-2013 07:15 AM

have given few K over the years...
none of us medical folks ever did..
we opted for saline..
I'm sure they help some folks..
but pharma loves this spiel...

They are working on alternative means to bring you under their control. BTW, did you notice anything unusual about your coffee this morning?

Yes, every year. Sometimes twice a year if the strain changes. A guy comes to my office, sticks me and is out in 10 seconds. For that I never get the flu.

911mnypt 01-11-2013 07:22 AM

Yes every year...I have to being in the healthcare industry.

vonsmog 01-11-2013 07:28 AM

No, the preservatives in them are one of the causes of Alzheimer's. Plus when they make up the mix before they know what strain of flu is going around. If the mix is wrong, you still get the flu. My doctor does not get them, and does not push them on his customers as well.

This is the first year I've even considered getting a flu shot. I got the flu the day after Xmas and was begging for death until about a week ago. I hope that was the bad flu everyone is talking about. I don't want to feel like that again and I have a lot of business travel coming up. Last time I had the flu was about seven yrs. ago. Can you get it twice in the same season?

ckelly78z 01-11-2013 07:37 AM

I couldn't have surgury without getting the shot.

scottmandue 01-11-2013 07:37 AM

No... in the future someone will make a mistake and this is how the zombie virus will be propagated... or will it be a mistake? (check those flu vials for the umbrella logo!)

But seriously, I don't get the shot and I don't get the flu... and I work at a children's museum.

I have had the flu shot every year. Figure it is worth it. My wife and daughter don't. I don't like flu but I don't like alzeimers either!. The flu likely comes first. Now where was I?!

Dantilla 01-11-2013 07:56 AM

I've never had one, never get the flu.

*****. No wonder I had the sudden urge to pay my taxes and go watch MSNBC. :D

I for one welcome our robot overlords.

A930Rocket 01-11-2013 08:07 AM

Every year and no flu yet!

sammyg2 01-11-2013 08:23 AM

There wasn't a "sometimes" option.

Anyone notice that this is a very, very bad year for the flu but we hear very little about it from the gubmint, but a couple years ago they were over-hyping the so called "swine flu" as if it meant the end of civilization as we know it.
The second in command said

"I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places now. … When one person sneezes it goes all the way through the aircraft. That's me. I would not be, at this point, if they had another way of transportation, suggesting they ride the subway."

Coincidentally at the time they were agressively pushing related legislation and the hype benefitted their cause.

I love the flu shot. Covered by insurance. My wife got sick. I cared for her and never caught it. She got the shot too. :(? I can't figure it out.

Rot 911 01-11-2013 09:21 AM

Only time was in the army for the Swine Flu. Made me sick. Never got one since and never had the flu.
