Are you sure that is a strut mount bearing? Looks more like an overheated muffler bearing.

You are probably one of those picky customers who is always complaining about a little rattle here, and little squeak there. That think has at least 50k left in it. Sheesh!

Just out of curiosity where do they use a bearing like that in the strut mount?

Based on the size of the paper towel it looks like a 6203 ball bearing.

I'm not sure of the structure of the mount, I didn't do the work. My mechanic told me that the bearing is at the point where the strut attaches to the mount. I did a bit of research, and its pretty common for these to go bad.

Lexus wanted to charge me $4000 to replace the struts because of a sound coming from the front end. My mechanic charged me $700 to replace both front strut mounts and change the oil. Fixed the issue perfectly. Alignment is spot on.

It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.
