I recently rented Firefly from the local public library, watched all of the episodes in a coupe of weeks. The special features section made mention that her role was not to be of the typical Hollywood starlet and made her gain a lot of weight for the role.

In addition the role of Inara Serra play by Morena Baccarin was cast just one day before the first episode shooting because an actress slated for that role could no longer fulfill her obligations.

I never got too much into the celebrity crush thing, I always figured a good looking woman was a good looking woman regardless of status. That being said, I really used to the think that the original blonde anchorwoman on Fox news was extremely beautiful. Can't remember her name and can't find any pics of her. I think she was related to one of the owners maybe? Anyways, she seemed like a class act.
