F1 Melbourne ***Spoiler***
A good start to the season. Lots of action up front & some great racing. Kimi's win was well earned.

Arr, I didn't see the beginning, but I really loved a race with no safety car, no restarts, just pure racing.

The top five were the usual suspects--all of whom I expect to be competitive all season for the championship.
Interesting that Mercedes is suddenly competitive and McLaren is not.

Oh, and I think NBC's coverage was excellent. Absolutely top notch. Nice to see the team in a real studio. And the commercials with race coverage were nice.

Nothing says racing like NBC, but NBC stands for "nothing but commercials". Lots more then last year on speed.

Yep good race! Yea Kimi! I too thought the coverage and commentary were right on.
I got an email from a friend that is a big Masa fan. He said that he is so bummed for what they did to him??? Anyone know what that is about? I thought Masa and Sutil both had races to be happy with. Cheers Richard |

Just pit strategy at Ferrari tends to foul Massa and work in favor of Alonso. Whether intentional in this case to get Alonso in front of Massa, or the guy calling the shots for Massa didn't make a good decision, is not something we'll likely know.

Odd . . . this is the same coverage we have had in Canuckistan for years. Same commentators, same split screen etc. Standard TSN.ca coverage except they are comp'ing the HiDef feed until the end of April.

Fun race! Seven lead changes and nice not to see Vettel run wire to wire. Looking forward to more brief Kimi interviews.

Throwing away his race. Makes me wonder how committed RBR is to him, given how dominant Vettel can be in that car.

Vettel, along with everyone else on super softs, killed their tires really quickly. At the beginning it looked like another Vettel win with everyone else racing each other. Once everyone dove in for new mediums it was a new race. I wonder how Vettel's race would have gone if not for Sutil holding him up for a month. I could see him opening up another insurmountable gap that Kimi's two-stop strategy couldn't beat.
Bring on Malaysia! |

Brilliant race. Kimi looked downright emotional during the anthem and then was an animated as I've seen him during the interview. I'm still not crazy about the podium interview - I much prefer the press conference afterwards.
The question is, what did Hamilton know last year? Though Mercedes was fast at the beginning of last season as well then didn't go anywhere. |

Yes a great race, glad to see Kimi win and Massa have a decent run, hope he can return to winning.
Good to see Hamilton and Mercedes competitive, hope this is a harbinger to an exiting season. Also good to see Sutil up front, and that Vettel is, for once, beatable. We all (as fans) needed to see him with some competition. Looks like a possible wet weekend in Malaysia so maybe more of the same type race this weekend. |

He took so much heat for leaving McLaren, I will be pleased if it turns out he was crazy like a fox.
