It's amazing just how many Russians died during World War II Good thing that we sent them all of the food and supplies that we did.

Damn - I can't make it work on my pc.

Try now - the cyrillic URL may have been screwing you up

Thank you for your help. I just don't know what to do when I get to the bbs - all I see is a photo of him with a camera and the rest is blank.

Fascinating. I recalled seeing this picture before in a different context:

It was an article about photo tampering. Here is the text and picture comparison:

A World War II photo published in the Russian magazine Ogoniok shows several Russian soldiers raising the Soviet flag atop the German Reichstag building. At the request of the editor-in-chief of the magazine, the photo was altered prior to publication to remove what appeared to be a watch from the right arm of the solider supporting the flag-bearer. Though in reality the object on his right arm was most likely a compass, there was concern that viewers would conclude that he had watches on both wrists, and take that as evidence that he had been looting.

Probably because whatever browser you're using can't render the Cyrillic font

Really interesting pictures. I did manage to recognize Budapest which I will have to show to my f-i-l. Although, he was in a camp in the Ukraine by the time this was taken.

Chilling and fascinating at the same time. To think over 22 million Russian souls lost is mind boggling.

Its been estimated that Joe Stalin imprisoned or killed about 25,000,000 Russian civilians. Most simply disappeared never to be seen or heard from again.

History like this is hard for us to understand.
