My Grandfather
On my Momz ;) side ...My paternal gramps served on a ship in the south Pacific in WWII
Worked for the Atomic Energy Commission in the late 50's then became the the Director of Radiation Control of the Department of Health for NYC He passed in the mid 70's? I am embarrassed that I don't remember the date... One my cousins dug this up.. An interview with him in 1959....on WNYC the instant I heard him reply to the first question............ I recognized a voice I have not heard in 40 years... Its dry... he was smart ... interesting to hear the 1959 view of atomic energy If your interested look near the bottom left and click listen |

Nuclear Physicist involved in the Manhattan Project... Paternal gramps was an Electrical Engineer. One uncle was an Aerospace Engineer, the other a Priest.. My dad was a Civil Engineer, I followed his path .... What moved me the most when I listened, was the instant I heard his voice..I just flashed and remembered him, triggered memories.... |
Very cool Tim . Haven't herd my Grandfather's voice in over 30 yrs but it's still imbedded in my head. Great memories too .:)
Being in emergency services and the OEM it was pretty cool hearing how much we have changed over the years in the way we look at nuclear issues . |
