awkward truth is funny sometimes
That was funny |
but maybe...
good stuff |
I saw that live while he was filming for the HBO special that just came out. He really is funny.
Somebody was talking in the front row and he RIPPED into the guy for 5 minutes straight...masterful. |
of course I am morally appalled that anybody would laugh at the thought that a kid dying from exposure to nuts when they have a known allergy.
but maybe i giggled a little. |
I didn't find any of that laugh-worthy. But, I guess if people pay $50 a ticket for a comedy show, they're going to try and laugh at everything.

Just because you're a humorless old git, Richard, doesn't mean you have to try to make yourself feel better by insulting the rest of us.

And if you find sick kids, slaves and troops getting killed in battle funny, well, have at it :) I find it to be very distasteful humor.

I didnt know who he was until I heard him on Stern a few weeks ago. Some of his stuff is a bit much for me but overall I think he's damn entertaining.

It's a little more complex type of comedy than a "guy walked into a bar" joke. |
Yeah, I get it. I'm just saying that it would be difficult for me personally to find humor with such tasteless subject matter. I think he could have been just as 'funny' maybe talking about people of Walmart or something similar.

Try Bill Burr if you are looking for great but somewhat uncomfortable humor. Love the guy.

Some of the funniest humor borderlines on tasteless......
There is a difference in laughing "at" a multiple amputee and "with" them for example. My Father lost all his fingers and the front of each foot about midway back when he was 66 due to some tard who misread his medical chart while he ws in the hospital for a heart attack and gave him Heparin which he was allergic to. A few months after he was in physical therapy his humor turned on (he was a very impatient man) and he would occasionally make jokes about his daily inconveniences such as going to the bathroom by himself. He would sometimes just make random commentary as if narrating from the third person. When we went to visit the doctor that had saved his life the doctor in parting said "You can buy me drink sometime....On second thought Ill buy YOU a drink!" My dad replied with "make mine a double Heparin with (doctors name) chaser!" He would also say things like "wanna see a man with no hands go to the bathroom?" "I need a camera with a tube I can blow into to operate the shutter" Is that not funny?? is it in poor taste??? Would you laugh at a friend who fell down while drunk in a public place? .........I would Without humor life's a dreary place especially when you are facing serious hardship. It's one of the only things that makes it bearable sometimes. To take a walk to the last door with a friend going through cancer without humor seems beyond the misery of it all in the first place. Making light of some of life's worst is necessary to keep optimism in the field of view. Just sharing a perspective:) |
Sick humor can be very funny. There is positively no subject that is totally off limits to humor.
I know a few jokes that would send me to ban island that are very sick and twisted. They are still funny. I remember Lubie told a joke a while back that made a few people very mad. In the end it is JUST A JOKE! |
