Can an LLC own firearms?
I was wondering about implications, given health care and/or insurance costs may be referenced to ownership.

Not sure about an LLC but a trust can. In fact setting up a trust for the purchase of certain firearms makes the process much less painful. I know several folks that have them for purchasing SBRs and suppressors. You have to engrave the name of the trust on each item and only trustees can use the items. Very helpful in estate planning as well, your children and spouce can be listed on the trust.

Corporations can. In fact, this is one way to not need the local law enforcement signoff for a Class 3 weapon.
LLC is not the same as a Corporation. You might check the ATF website.

Red-beard, Exactly right. The local LEO does not have to sign if the application is submitted by a trust. You still have to pay the ATF $200 for the tax stamp but that is it. Best part is that my kids won't have to do a transfer when I die as they are listed on my trust. It was a very simple process and only cost me $150 for the lawyer to write up the trust documents.

Seems to violate the spirit of the Constitution when Corporations have more rights than individuals.
