Wow. That's a surprise, and not a happy one at all.

RIP Mr. Manzarek.

My dad was/is a huge Doors fan. He saw them live many times and I grew up listening to them. Sad day indeed.

I have a hard time turning off Light My Fire before it finishes, almost seems disrespectful to such a complete piece of music.

RIP

Never met the man but long time admirer.

You know these cats were excited to be jamming with the iconic keyboardist.

Break on through, Ray......

Damn, hate to hear this. One great keyboard player that could lay down some decent bass lines on that Rhodes piano bass.

18 years old, my first beer at a bar... my older buddy John was tending bar... we sat together and watched the rain coming down, and he put Riders On The Storm on the stereo. I'll never forget that.

wow you turn on your computer and you never know what your gonna learn. this sucks. the doors were the first band i really became obsessed with as a kid. didnt know he was sick and didnt realize he was 74, he always looked so healthy and young. RIP

legion 05-20-2013 06:21 PM

Oh man!

He was my favorite Door!

Nostril Cheese 05-20-2013 06:56 PM

I saw him play with X. good times.

RIP

techweenie 05-20-2013 07:03 PM

Definitely sucks. Doors could not have had their distinctive sound without him.

Porsche owner 15 years ago or so... not sure if that continued.
