Blue Ridge

Mini-vacation time.

Headed to Blue Ridge today with another couple to spend a couple of days at the mountain cabin.

Absolutely love it up there....barely an hour and a half away but it may as well be the other side of the world compared to downtown ATL.

Can't wait to relax for a few days with some great food, great wine (beer and tequila, too) and my beautiful wife.

Yep--we will end up taking in all of the cheesy road-side stands, possibly going on yet another canopy zip-line tour and maybe even doing a little white-water rafting--or maybe just hanging near the cabin listening to music, drink wine and tell tall tales.

Either way it will be a much-needed recharge for both of us. I only wish I could take the 911---but I can't quite get all the gear and dogs packed into that.

Here's to a happy memorial day weekend to all of you as well!

+1 and the twisty P-car roads. N. Georgia, Tenn, or NC?

North Ga!

Roads are awesome....

Brings back memories of camping trips while growing up in Norfolk....The Peaks of Otter, Sharp and Flat Top Mountain......beautiful!

Enjoy your trip, Todd!

NICE, Rick!

It was a big deal for us growing up to head to the mountains.

I was a little kid and remember once when hiking up a steep incline there was a centipede that looked awfully intimidating - I held up the group a bit while it slowly made it's way across our path!

I miss a lot of Virginia - and certainly those gorgeous mountains!

Beth was playing with a millipede on a tree.

I love the Blue Ridge Mtns.

I miss them too.....but the ocean here is warm and the winters are mild.

Everything in life is a trade-off.....

The last good drive in my 930 was up there when we stayed on Lake Seed. I love it up there.

Getting into boost in 3rd gear is not advised on those roads.

From Front Royal down to Atlanta. The Blue Ridge Parkway and area is special. A good place to "reset" your mind.

It's been too long since I cruised the blue ridge parkway, and hiked around in Cade's Cove.
