Pretty incredible. However, no way the biker gave it full beans from the line.
The bikes standing quarter time has to be at least 1.5 seconds quicker than the Nissan.

its a whole lot hard to get a good launch and extract max performace from a bike than it is a gtr however.
I don't know much about motor bike but my buddy tells me its not uncommon for a rider to show up to the drag strip and run 12/13 second quarter mile in 180 hp sportbikes.

That's exactly what I expected...
The amount of hp and traction coming out of cars today is incredible. Regularly increasing the "WTF!?" faces on all the leader bike junkies. Bikes are slow ![]()

I've drag raced both, and its definitely harder to properly launch a bike, than it is a car. I cant even say how many times I've either almost flipped it or had it kick out from under me from spinning the tire.
The thing that really impressed me was how the GTR pulled away at the top end. .

Hard to believe the bike was running at anything close to it's full potential. It's a full second quicker in the quarter mile, plus it's 20-25 mph faster through the lights, and I don't see anything like that advantage anywhere in the video. That guy couldn't launch the thing worth a crap but he also couldn't have been at full throttle in the first three gears.

Doesn't the GTR have a launch setting you can dial up?
The thing is made to be launched for max grip/acceleration. Pretty amazing if not overly practical.

I was thinking the same thing JR. Those bikes should have been way out ahead (in the begining at least...)

I think I over estimated the capability of an R1.

The GT-R has all wheel drive and launch control. Anyone with a pulse can get a perfect launch.

Ultima GTR are darn fast cars with a great ability to launch. And it's my understanding that bikes suffer at the top end because of aero compared to cars.

Lots of snow Porsche away

no surprise he took him in the top end for sure, but that is pretty poor launch performance for the bike.
