Won 14 straight sets on her way to victory. She also has an IQ of 175. But the best part is she is so humble and gracious in victory. Priceless!
![]() France's Marion Bartoli won her first Grand Slam title with a dominant 6-1 6-4 victory over Sabine Lisicki in the Wimbledon final. Bartoli won the first set in 30 minutes as Lisicki struggled to cope with the pressure of the occasion. Lisicki cut a fragile figure and was reduced to tears in the second set, helpless to prevent Bartoli from lifting the Venus Rosewater dish.

Guys, if you have a sporting event you are wanting to watch unspoiled and not live, stay off the internet? what is so hard? News sites, boards, chats, just stay away.
Its your own fault for checking OT.

If Lisicki had showed a set and a half earlier it would have been a good match.
I bacame a fan of many new players this tournament. Radwanska, Kitkova, Lisicki, Bartoli. I hope they keep upping their game and make Women's tennis much more competitive.. It had gotten kinda boring. Loved the Men's matchup of Del Porto and Jokivich, that was some outstanding Tennis. Should be a good match Jokivich and home town Fav Murray Tommorrow.

Definitely needed a "spoiler alert" title and the result in the post body instead.

Yep... it is my fault, I was not even thinking about watching the tennis later when I clicked on PPOT while taking a break while out in the shop tinkering with a car.

I guess I got caught up in the moment. It aired very early on ESPN and was over fairly quick. Bartoli showed what a sportswoman she really is and I am very happy for her and the sport of tennis once again.

Maybe some of these people that post without spoilers, are from back in the day. Not everyone has a DVR. Heck, I often only manage to catch the Re-runs of F1 races during the off season. Would it be reasonable for me to expect some one to never talk about a F1 race until 6 months later when I got to watch the re-run? If there is an event I don't want spoiled - I don't visit forums. Example, I currently get to watch a few F1 races recorded and viewed Sunday, I stay off the net from when the race is live, until I watch it if I don't want spoilers.

Glad I don't follow tennis.......
Is it that hard to not spoil something though?

Next time put "Spoiler Alert" in title of thread, info on winner in actual thread, not in first few lines, because that comes up when you roll over the thread.

Why? I don't have a DVR. I don't tape and then watch later. Like I said - I made a mistake.
Thanks for the Wimbleton content, everyone.

It is only Bartoli's claim that her IQ is 175, according to Chris Evert.
Also, although Bartoli can turn-on the charm, she's not popular on the tour...namely because often when her opponent makes an unforced error, Bartoli sticks her fist in the air and screams "Yes!" I played USTA tournaments and that behavior is not consistent with proper tennis etiquette on the casual court, the tournament court, or the pro court. . Spoiler: Same here...glad I didn't drop in to PP prior to watching my DVR. . Edit: ... By her own admission, her IQ is 175 which is higher than Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison. Quite impressive. She was asked about the comments regarding her high IQ by reporters following a semifinal win at the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells. “I did a test when I was younger, but I’m not really someone that is really telling everyone, ‘Oh, I’m so smart.’ I’m kind of hiding it. But that’s how I am, you know. It just comes naturally. That’s how I was born with.”
