Modern Ruins of Abandoned Detroit (PHOTOS)

Modern Ruins of Abandoned Detroit (PHOTOS) - weather.com

From the authors of the photos:

"Ruins are the visible symbols and landmarks of our societies
and their changes, small pieces of history in suspension.

The state of ruin is essentially a temporary situation that happens at
some point, the volatile result of change of era and the fall of empires.
This fragility, the time elapsed but even so running fast, lead us to watch them one very last time :
being dismayed, or admire, making us wondering about the permanence of things.

Photography appeared to us as a modest way
to keep a little bit of this ephemeral state."

I was just going to post on this earlier today. I would love to round up a bunch of my buddies, and go exploring up there.

There is a post on PARF about Detroit. If you look at the initial posts, there are before/after pictures of the Packard plant.

If you look at the Detroit post w/o prejudice, you might see a plant, the largest plant under roof in decay. I'm not interested in your politics or religion.

Flieger 07-19-2013 05:05 PM

Easy now.

Doesn't Boeing still have the largest plant area under a roof?
