Cop accidentally shoots woman....and takes responsibility.

You know, we hear lots of stories of cops doing wrong and denying it. But its not that way all the time.

Genuine accident, and cops immediately apologize and take responsibility.

Wish more departments did the same.

It is good to see but now she will sue and instantly win/settle. One of the reasons people deny things is because besides personal or moral reasons, telling the truth has no bearing in the court of law other than to use your words against you and help the other side win. Sad fact but does anyone think this woman wasn't on the phone to a lawyer 5 minutes after she left the hospital?

As officers pulled up to the scene, they spotted a woman punching another woman on the sidewalk, according to police.

They stopped to break up the fight, at which point police say one of the women took off running.

Police say the woman refused to show her hands, so the officer drew his gun. While drawing the gun, police say the officer accidentally shot the 19-year-old woman in the leg.

When officers ran the woman's name, they learned she was wanted in Snohomish County on several felony warrants. Snohomish county police requested that Seattle police book the woman into jail for the warrants.
It's cool that the cop is owning up, but if the skank wasn't a low life and acted like a normal person, she'd be fine. I hope she doesn't get much more than her med bills paid.

Why would she get much of anything? Felon is fighting, flees and continues to act in what sounds like a threatening manner.

He does need to learn trigger discipline, don't they train the cops in Seattle?
