I wouldn't take any advice from Cowherd. I don't know how anyone can listen to that self-proclaimed know-it-all. When he comes on- I change the station.

Nobody's giving my Steelers a chance and it is well deserved, they don't got much. But the Ravens not even in the top 10? Winning a Super Bowl is the easiest trophy in sports, especially if your in a weak division which NE lives. Clinch home field and a bye, win 2 home games, the first against generally a crappy team and your in. The Bronco's were one DB daydreaming away from going last year.

Go Pittsburgh. But what the hell, cut Dwyer? What did I miss compared to Redman who just seems slow?

89911 09-04-2013 01:32 PM

Dwyer wasn't going to win you any Super Bowls. Their lack of a healthy RB was one of the reasons they are ranked where they are. If they get their O line together and protect Roeth, the will always have a chance. He is the anti-Romo.:D

Colin Cowherd is the Rush Limbaugh of sports. He comes on I change the station.

49ers will be pretty tough, barring injury

They already lost to us!

I think the OP missed the Texans.

You confuse anger with a strong opinion expressed mater of factly.
And none of your damn biddness. Look it up.

I like the Broncos chances, although I'm biased. If they can survived the first month while getting some guys healthy (and waiting for their best defensive player that can't follow directions how to pee into a bottle) they should get the AFC top seed. Offense will need to carry the Donkies for the first half of the season.

It looks to me as if Carroll is doing for the Seahawks as he did for USC.....building a dynasty. You may not like his methods.....but tough noogies. The Hawks maybe good enough this year to put a corner piece in the foundation.

What? No appetite for silliness? :D

Carroll's dynasty crumbled here and then went on probation.
as far as Colin is concerned, he may be a bit of a loudmouth but if you bet his picks last year during the college and pro season you would be rich now.

I know Pete Carroll and he knows me by name. At least to the point when I saw him on a Orange Lutheran sideline several years ago and nodded to him hey coach, he said Hi Sam, how you doing?

He is one heck of a man. His charity work and dedication to the community is outstanding. I know of no one with a better work ethic.
But what he did at USC and is doing in seattle is based on emotion.
He fires the players up. At the college level that usually got the best out of them, but often resulted in inconsistencies.
Things like going the entire season undefeated, except for completely blowing that game against a weak team and losing the #1 ranking.
How many times did we see USC do that over the past decade? They failed to get up for a weaker opponent and choked.
If they were running on emotion, they couldn't play without it.

Now on to the seahawks:
That emotional play he inspires has morphed. It isn't just enthusiasm, it has taken on a gangsta hood low-life mentality and is now intimidation, cheap shots, trash talking.
It has become normal to see a seahawk player holding down another player after the whistle, bumping into players from the other team, pushing, generally acting like PUNKS. The team has taken on a new personality and it is not good.

Pete allows it because he's an adrenaline junkie and it helps his team win, but I see it as selling the team's soul to the devil. Win at what cost?
Same goes for the niners and their new coach's enthusiasm.
An enthusiastic punk is an exaggerated punk.

Reminds me of the raider's phrase "just win baby"which meant for years do whatever it takes to win even if it's wrong or dirty.

THAT is what make Bill Belechik the best coach in the game and one of the best ever. He does not allow or put up with acting like a low-life on his team and still wins without it.
HIS TEAMS HAVE CLASS.

I'm not sure what game's of NE you have been watching, but I see a lot of the same "punk" moves with his team, maybe more so. Check out the game when they beat San Diego in the playoffs for a lot of classless behavior. I'm not saying they are far worse, just not any better then most. Rodney Harrsion couldn't even play today because of the new rules.

Tobra 09-05-2013 09:35 AM

I thought Mr Belichick got busted for illegal videotaping of opponents.

Must be a different Coach Belichick

yazhound 09-06-2013 10:57 AM

Angry and a poor speller too. Old McDonald?

Shish. You put out a strongly worded rant that is redolent of anger and then get ticky after a matter of fact reply. Perhaps I am not confused but insightful? (The play on business does make me smile in its inventiveness. Nice touch.)
