Ditch the flames... Hellish sleeper car!

Custom 1999 VW Beetle with only 8950 miles!!!!

I'm thinking that painted plain black with stock wheels, you could win a few benjamins with this bug.... 380whp! Talk about torque steer!!!

I wonder about who spends that kinda change to trick out a car like a bug? Seems rather pointless....

I drove a previous GF's bug coverable... fun little car but seemed like it rode kinda high... can't see how/why people auto-cross/hotrod them... but whatever floats your boat.

Did you jack the seat down? I never noticed that with ours, but at the time we had a 4wd 3/4 ton diesel pickup, the big seemed like you were sitting on the road... ;)

I liked how the big drive, and our stock tdi had gobs of power...

And remember, VW wrote the book on fast FWD cars with the GTi

That's pretty impressive. Somebody invested a ton of money that they aren't getting back. Had I not just bought a Mini I would probably have considered it, just for the sake of irony.

If the work done was good quality and I could handle the paint job, I'd be all over it. New Beetles don't really appeal to me, but there should be an ass for that seat. I'm sure those flames are painted on, which would make new paint pretty expensive. I don't know what a stock Beetle with 9K miles on it would be worth, but $8,750 obo seems like a bargain for that one, if it's not a hack job.

my mind played tricks.

i though asking price was the same as odo miles. that is super cool. i assume he is going to take a money bath.

i'd love to add up his receipts.

The stage III kit alone is $5,300 and I assume that is WITHOUT the install and definitely without any subsequent tuning. Santini paint job? I doubt they even turn on the air compressor for less than $5,000.

So yes. Someone is taking bath on this car, an understatement along the lines of the Titanic had an ice related issue. On the other hand - the Beetle's new owner gets a one helluva bargain.

Yeah, it would be a heck of a lot of fun to drive...

Don't what to Mr grumpy here but...

"Ultimate Custom 1999 VW Beetle/Bug. This car has ONLY 8950 original miles on it."

How does a 14 year old car only have 8950 miles on it?

widebody911 09-04-2013 01:21 PM

$8750 obo?

Something is fishy.

That engine is a grenade with a missing pin.

No kidding... And I'd bet he spent another 4-5k shipping that thing all over. What's he got into it, 50k?

Lol... I'd like to see some pictures of the underhood... He may just realize that he drained a ton of money into a car that no one wants!!! ;)

That's what I was thinking. Sounds to good to be true.

380 HP at the wheels from a 1.8t will always be a ticking bomb. But fun while it lasts.

porsche4life 09-04-2013 02:15 PM

Dude... Its a VW, it's always been a ticking bomb! ;)
