Legendary Car Dealer Cal Worthington Dead At 92
Wow - what memories. The single most annoying commercials - but clearly they were effective. His dog Spot.

god speed. I saw one of his commercials a few days ago. He looked 92 in them. I grew up in San Diego and back then on a good day we'd get the LA independent stations. His commercials were on non-stop.

I remember driving by his dealership in the 60s always hoping to get a glimpse of him or one of the animals I saw on TV.

I can never make out what he's saying. I always though it was, If you a need a car or truck pussycow, and so on. Thinking back, its pretty stupid, but cool at the same time with all the animals. I still remember the theme. How about Pete Ellis Dodge, Long Beach Freeway, Firestone exit, Southgate. Those commercials are imbedded in my head.

Apparently Cal Worthington convinced the LA stations to run movies all night long instead of dead air. And of course buying commercials from him. Running all night long. Smart. Darn, I have that jingle stuck in my head now.

God just bought two dozen Chevys. Jesus opted for a white Corvette, fully loaded.

Reading the comments, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the lyrics were: "Pussy cow, pussy cow, pussy cow..."

We had a AMC/Jeep dealer up here who copied Cal to the T. Even had a dog named Spot. I laughed when I saw the real deal.

Oh man, this is funny. I was old enough to know that he can't be saying "pussycow". Its a bad word, it sounds like a bad word? For a long time, I was convinced he was trying to sing Mussycow. For the life of me, I don't know what the hell is a Mussycow? I was too cool to ask any of my friends what a Pussy cow is? After all, a boy was suppose to know all things about pussy, or mussy right?

I normally do n't watch much TV. Are there any catchy jingles for commercials now that the kids will talk about in 30 years? I am not sure if there are any?
