The Irony

After the Car Show we went to Flemings for Dinner. My wife struck up a conversation with this nice women. Both of her parents died on 9/11, they were in the first plane that struck the World Trade Center. Her parents were only in their 60's, they found just her father's arm. They were flying to the west coast to babysit her kids.

Tomorrow is the Anniversary and to meet someone who was connected 2 days ago is ironic. Some of the people on this board can be such asses.
We are wearing buttons with her parents picture on it in remembrance

On 9/10/01 I flew out of Philadelphia back to Los Angeles.

My co-worker was scheduled to fly back 9/12... he had to take the train home.

Isn't it just a coincidence?

It's a tough week for a lot of people here in NY.

How is that ironic? The name of Britain’s biggest dog was Tiny. That's ironic.

I have an ass, but I'm not an ass. That's not ironic.

I had two business associates who died that day.

The whole 9/11 thing just sucks... All I see is pain and heartache for the families of the victims.

Meanwhile the world is still messed up with radical idiots setting the agenda.

Porsche-O-Phile 09-10-2013 04:19 PM

All the best to surviving family members and friends.

To the murderous scumbag extremists who did this, gloated about it and/or supported it, I hope hell is real - just for you.

at the risk of sounding morbid, can I ask how his arm was recently found after this period of time has passed?

red-beard 09-10-2013 04:33 PM

An ex-GF worked in WTC-2 until about a week or so before. She had a lot of co-workers that made it out, company was on the lower floors.. She also knew people who didn't. I'm not sure I know anyone directly.

I knew 15 or 20 people on board Pan-Am 103.

I think the usage was just in terms of "only", not "recently".

vash 09-10-2013 04:41 PM

it's all Alanis Morrisette's fault. she really messed it all up between Ironic and Coincidence with that song of her's.

10,000 spoons when all you needed was a knife..not ironic.

I read it again and I think you're correct. Thanks.

I knew a number of people that perished on 9/11. Fathers, mothers, sons and daughters. A sad day in world history. One young lady was a flight attendant on the first plane to hit the towers. She was filling in for another attendant that was ill. She was in first class. I know her parents well. I think of all of them frequently.

I was on my way to Toronto out of LGA and just leaving my home when the news hit. Our son was scheduled to a fly a S76 into Manhattan, fortunately that never happened. So many vivid memories of that week. I was at ground zero on that Friday.

Enough said.
