Moving Threads to PARF...
 

Who decides to move threads?...and why is it that whoever moves them remains a secret?
Why not state why a thread is moved?...and by whom?

Either the mods do it themselves or someone reports the post to the mods who then look and decide if it needs to move.

We've had a couple recently that I was sure would get moved within hours but actually stayed until they petered out on their own.

The thread you are referring to was headed to PARF pretty much in the first handful of responses.

I almost started that one out in PARFylvania, but figure it was news, not political.

I wonder if it will turn out to be "workplace violence"

Just thought it to be a measure of consciousness to make a statement of what's so, WRT moving threads.
Kinda like the "no talk" rule in dysfunctional families...moving threads w/o saying who did it & why.

I can often see a thread that will be moved by it's title w/o even opening it. most times I won't even open those knowing the PARFies will have it drug it back to their cave by just the simple act of posting. i as a non-PARFer i cant always put my finger on who, but why is generally a no brainer if you read what's his names post:D

It also seemed like the "moved" thread remnants of a shadowed title on the original topic area it was moved from is not provided when a thread is sent to the dumps. kinda cool, or am I recalling incorrectly?

Yes PARF is pretty toxic. Used to post there regularly a while back and ended up putting at least 3 people on ignore. Stayed away for a few years, came back and ended up putting the exact same 3 people back on ignore.

I don't think moderators are usually patrolling. They generally respond to complaints. I come here for light entertainment and am glad to stay away from politics and religion topics. It is enough to see some of the animosity that bleeds over into this forum at times ...
