Is this all legit...
I am selling my Boxster privately. I am ultra careful with prospective buyers and I got this response to my kijijii ad. Would like a Car Proof. I responded that he will pay for it and that I would like to meet him before I provide any info on the car.
He responded that "I would like a link to ur car". I am assuming that he means the VIN number or ? If it is the VIN no. he wants then I would think that it is safe to provide that? Or what else does he mean by a link? |
Sounds weird. Ask him. I am already mentally disregarding this one.

Ignore it, automated scammer resp.
It does sound like a scam.
I wouldn't bother with that (alleged) person.
I agree, it's sketchy!
Sounds scammer. Many people can't spell (sadly), but when they use the English language in odd ways it's typically a giveaway.
Thanks to you all!:)
why would he need your vin?
maybe he wants to see if its an ROW, Japenese version or a US version with heat exchangers?
or do a carfax
Given him a blatantly incorrect VIN - one that does not make any sense, and see how he reacts. If he's legit, he'll ask for clarification. If not, there will be a car somewhere in the world with your incorrect VIN attached to it.
