Art people? Tabs? local San Diego?

I have received a small collection of art ( paintings ) recently. I don't think I want to keep any of it. I will call an appraiser if I need to but figured I would post here to see what the braintrust can help with.

There are a lot more. they all seem to be original paintings. Any help on valuing or am I better off paying an appraiser?
Thanks in advance.

I am certainly no art expert but a quick look appears to be tasteful decorative art with no obvious hidden master works. For a better evaluation from a Porsche guy, contact Dennis Power. He is now officially retired in Santa Barbara but a former museum curator and noted expert in fine art.

If you are really inclined, do a web search on the individual signatures. Looks to me like decor art as sold in malls and decor stores for years. The frames are probably worth more than the art itself.

There are some prices on the frames. Some of them are expensive. Internet checks on the signatures produce wild swings in value. I don't want to do the wrong thing but also don't want to spend big bucks on an appraiser that is just going to laugh and tell me to take them back to Bed Bath and Beyond. I really have no idea what I am doing in this area.

Schlep them up to Long Beach or Rose Bowl swap meet and sell to a vendor who deals in the stuff. Trust me, they're out there. And as David M. said, just deco art, nothing to get excited about.

Looks like some of that "Starving Artists Show and Sale" stuff.

You never know. None of it looks impressive but that doesn't always mean much. I'd get a subscription to one of the art market databases and research each artist and try to get a feel for the prices. Chances are you have nothing special but there's only one way to find out. I wouldn't pay for an appraisal unless I had reason to believe you had something of value, first.
