Mexico and Panama needed to win to get into a playoff with New Zealand.

Mexico held the tiebreaker over Panama so if both tied, won or lost, Mexico would move on.

In the 90th minute (both games aired at the same time) Mexico was losing 2-1 to Costa Rica and Panama was beating the US 2-1...Mexico lost so all Panama needed was to win or tie and they were in and Mexico missed out on the WC.

The US scored in the 92nd and 93rd minute and Panama is out! Craziest ending I have seen in a long time.

If Mexico actually makes it to the World Cup it will be one of the greatest runs ever. They had a bicycle kick in the 84th minute of the last game to win and keep their hopes alive and now tonight. Unbelievable.:eek:

Really? Mexico BLEW this qualifying run, and they BLEW the Gold Cup. Their arrogance has finally outweighed their skill, and they are seeing the brutal effects from that.

The only reason they're alive is because of the US team playing like the champions that they are, instead of letting Panama move forward and cutting Mexico off at the knees, AGAIN.

This Mexican Nat team is an embarrassment, and I truly hope that New Zealand gets some sort of magic goal that takes them out of contention for good.
