On a more positive note: We were able to retrieve a 930 engine and trans from MM yesterday.
The people at MM were cordial and helpful all be it VERY SLOW.
They are basically doing a first come, first served retrieval event with appointments set in the future.
We have an appointment to retrieve another in a couple of days and we will continue until we have fulfilled all the requests we get.
It's a cluster-***** but people are getting property back, maybe 15 yesterday.

In all these MM discussions has there been a single credible post of an at least a mediocre rebuild by MM?

It just boggles the mind that they could stay in business for so long turning out 100% crap. Surely 1 in 100 engines were done right at least?

Mine took several months and about $1500 to be made right. Today the motor is running well and has for probably 15K miles in the hands of me and its new owner.

Okay, okay, spelling and punctuation are now corrected. I have very strong negative feelings regarding this company. When Steve and I were new to the Porsche world, we made the epic tragedy of contacting them for an engine rebuild. We did not even HAVE internet then but found the company advertised in a well known Porsche magazine, so we assumed they were reputable.

Absolutely horrific experience. Everything imaginable was done wrong, it was an untuneable pig that burned a quart of oil every one hundred miles and had no single cylinder with more than about 120 pounds (most were under 100 pounds) of compression EVER. The JE pistons we had paid for turned out to be Ross pistons, etc. It was the single worst exercise we have ever had in our more than SIXTY YEARS of combined automotive experience.

If any of you have a car or engine there, I hope you are able to get it out quickly.

I just checked my journal. I met Roy at the Pomona Porsche/VW/Corvette swap back in 1989. I got a sense of slime back then. It's amazing that our highly paid law enforcement couldn't figure this out within at least 15 years of douche nozzlery.

Picking up my motor at MM wednesday after a year, drove over this morning asked if I could see it, looks like its all there ( or should I say hope, what do I know what I'm looking at.... )..

I gave Jerry $8k last march and it has only been disassembled...???

I live in Huntington Beach, who should I bring it to next. 2.9 w/webers

Well I helped a friend who had a "Motormeister" engine in his car then left an accurate post on Yelp about Jerry. This was several years ago.

Guess Jerry finally saw the report and this is the result. I did not expect much else from a San Fran based concern!

Am working with a friend who asked me to assist him in figuring out some issues that he had with the engine in a 911 Porsche he just bought. Leaks oil from everywhere, parts do not match and it runs like crap. We then looked in the paperwork and found that it had been overhauled by Jerry while he owned Motormeister.

What a POS! This motor was supposed to have been totally overhauled less than 14,000 miles ago and when we took it apart it appeared that it was more like 100,000 miles. Mix and match parts and the previous owner paid LOTS of $$ for this. Please BEWARE of Jerry, no matter which name he calls his shop! Please do an internet search for "motormeister" and you will see the truth!

Quite surprisingly, the 911 SC I sold turned out to be a MM engine. I had to spend a good chunk of change on top of what my parents spent on the car nearly a decade ago. Luckily after it was made running it had great compression, ran smooth, no leaks, copious amounts of power for a 3L.

Now,that doesn't discount the incredibly terrible customer service experience my parents had, the jerking around every week with "we're working on it". I think the only reason it came out right is my dad was making weekly trips to check their work. One of the rare "done well enough" engines I suppose. But I am immensely glad they have been shuttered. Bastards.
