I read he wasn't driving. Was a passenger with a friend driving when they lost control. Very sad. RIP Paul Walker.

Very sad. I was a senior in high school when the original Fast and Furious came out and remember vividly the impact it had on us gearheads, a movie and actor that will always be immortalized with my youth. Hope this isn't the end for the franchise.

He's done a lot of good things with his money and fame . Todays event was just another example of that .
What a shame.

RIP Paul.

Geez, the car is literally wrapped around the tree.

Movies were ok to me, but my son ( 20 y.o.) LOVED them all and is a big fan. Caught them filming the new one here in ATL a few weeks ago.

Sux.. RIP..

Super sad but that's what happens when you fk around on public roads with a fast car.

I just bought a (new to me) track car today. I don't plan on driving it at or near the limit on the street.

Sad though. Who hasn't used bad judgement once or twice.

I heard it was a former POC cup driver driving. Bad choice, but it looks like experience may have been there.

There's your problem right there...some idiot who thinks he's Michael Schumacher driving 10 tenth s on the street. Bad choice I'd say.

FWIW, he was also a PWC Series Driver.

Was the street closed off for the event? Look at the movies, they were filmed in the streets, with experienced drivers. I'm going to wait until passing judgement.

Didn't know he was my age.
Too young to die.
Love the first movie of the series.

Sad. Must have driven really fast to destroy the car like that.

My first thought upon hearing he wasn't driving and it was a CGT was that it reminded me of Corey Rudl's death back in 2005.

Also way too soon. I've never felt comfortable in anyone else's car since - that really hit home (same industry, knew of him professionally, etc).

RIP

Very sad news. I was never a huge fan of the Fast and Furious movies but I appreciate that they inspired a new generation of car lovers. This crash is going to make Paul Walker into a modern day James Dean. Another one gone too soon.

He really was a nice guy both on an off the set, he gave a lot back when others in the industry do not, and have not. He was a dog lover and a car nut and one of the best of his generation of actors

Seemed like a decent and generous fellow. Shame more famous (or not famous) folks are not
more like him.
A Carrera GT is a weapons grade machine. I've driven them and they are not friendly or forgiving
machines. Silly car for street use
RIP
