Pretty big, but 50 miles west off Eureka in the Pacific Ocean. That is quite a distance and probably does not cause that much damage on the coast. If it was a a rupture in a "subduction zone" meaning two major earth crust plates move vertically at the border area instead of sideways it could generate a tsunami wave though.

I actually felt it - about 10:20 last night. gentle side to side sway - felt it and noticed my small plants swaying a bit. lasted about 20-30 seconds.

And I'm a LONG ways away!

That is what everybody in Texas said when I moved down there. They had a hurricane blow through a few years before, which really is scary, lasts for a long time.

Did not feel the temblor last night. Lucky it was centered 50 miles from nowhere instead of Aptos, wherever that one in '89 was centered
