This is really LAME! Drag racing a late model Ferrari and a Lambo at about 55 to 60 mph does not compute! After they get rolling, its only a blip of the throttle, less than 2 seconds, to reach that speed. Looks like a considerable amount of irresponsible behavior before getting behind the wheel, but that is not even close to racing. If he is charged with racing, as the judge, I would throw out the whole case as the officers were overreacting. Then again, I don't even begin to condone his substance possession and abuse record. However, seems like he has good taste in women.

Another reason why the draft would be a good thing . A kid like him justs needs a little wall to wall counseling & his life will take on a whole new outlook. Look what it did for Elvis.....He didn't get bad with drug sheet until he became a responsible adult.

At 17 he made $53 million. Probably made the same in the last two years. So your 19 years old and have $160 million in the bank with more pouring in every day......make that $80 million (he'd have to pay tax on the 160). You bought your mom and dad houses and your in Florida having some fun beating on a couple of rental cars. That's why people rent cars like that for $3K a day. You get stopped by the police for allegedly speeding, 50 in a 30....estimated, no radar, just the police observations from several blocks away. Lawyer gets that tossed first. Then your charged with non physical assault on police officer. He questioned why they were harassing him. Yes he's 19 should have kept his mouth shut. But maybe he's a little pissed that a swat team invaded his home a few days ago because he allegedly threw eggs at his neibour's house. Then the cops ask him if he has been drinking and being 19 he tells them the truth and said I had a couple beers earlier. So they arrest him and make him blow into the tube. His BA is .04 but because he's under 21 (age discrimination?) he is only allowed a BA count of .02 He's a tourist how the heck is he supposed to know Florida stupid laws? And now it's reported that the police may have screwed up his BA test. Maybe this is just a case of a couple police who may or may not have come across a crime being committed decided to power trip on a kid who at 17 made more money than they will in their entire life's and they decided to show him who's boss.

And if this was the only dumb thing he had done no one would care. It's a pattern of stupid and annoying juvenile behaviour.

Heck, even Rob Ford got arrested in Florida once.

Edit: Ooops... I read that as .004. I don't think I would have been conscious at .04...

A couple misconceptions here. 1. He's Canadian, here on a visa. 2. BA test was .014. 3. His dad was with him on this jaunt. 4. Video shows it wasn't a race. 5. A couple Miami cops may have escorted him to the strip club (where he allegedly dropped $75K)

Likely this will plead out to no jail time because of police screw-ups.

Impaired is typically 0.08, 0.06 in some places...

TMZ reported that the actual BAC was 0.014. There is zero tolerance for under 21 years old. He also admitted use of marijuana and other illegal stuff.

They have a Provincial law here for .05 now.
That is maybe two beers in an hour? If I stop for a beer after work it is a two and out visit now.

Wonder what the protocol is.....under his citizenship, he is legal to drink at age 18 and .014 is not a problem. I suspect local laws take precedent here, but normally wouldn't the police just tell him to cool it and let him off for a warning?

Depending on the facts, it sounds like a whole lot overreaction on the part of what appears to be a paramilitary style police force.

Now, to be fair, I think they ought to give Bieber life for his music....
