When you listen to the radio, do you hear the next song on the album?
Maybe it's me but when I hear certain songs on the radio I automatically expect the next song on the record to start.
Anyone else? Oh yeah.....this winter sucks!!!! |
I don't listen to the radio much any more, but if a song comes in my iPod that was part of an album that I listened to a lot, I will anticipate the next song in the album.

Yes, all the time.
I once heard a radio station do Thick as a Brick 1 and 2. In my mind, there are certain songs that MUST be played in succession if on the radio. Heartbreaker/Livin Lovin Maid We Will Rock You/Champions Sailin Shoes/Julia/Sneakin Sally thru the Alley |
What's a radio?

Also Van Halen Eruption and You Really Got Me. Sms several songs from The Wall |
Listen to both formats, but we have a station up here Music for Music Heads 97.9. These people play songs you can't imagine and whole records awesome station.
|
Sometimes, but what really freaks me out is when I have a tune going on in my head and I flip on the radio and the song is playing on the radio at that very moment and at the correct point in the song to boot!

Heartbreaker and Living Loving Maid.

I so totally get this. Happens all the time. There was a time when records were produced to be listened to in order and a whole side at a time. I remember a photomogmNeilmYoung with a bunch of song titles on slips of paper, arranging and rearranging their order to get it just right.
ITunes and the mp3 have certainly changed that. There is plenty of good music out there but often the "deeper tracks" are missed. |

When I was in the hospital recovering from my hip replacement surgery I was on the "dial-a-smile" morphine pump and pain pills. I figured that was a great time to play Dark side of the moon. I have it on my cell phone. I had to really concentrate to figure out how to get it play in order but I lay back and enjoyed.
St. Peppers is another album that just sounds wrong played out of order. I have not listened to the radio in several years. I got sick of the local classic rock station that played 20 songs every single day. They would throw in the few random songs and back to the same play-list. I don't want to hear Manfred Man's Earth Band play Blinded by the light every single fricking day. Actually I don't ever want to hear it again. Now I listen to Pandora or my DVD full of 4.5 gigs of my MP3s. I put the DVD in random selection mode and let it pick the next song. |
Oh, yes.

My dad played this alot when I was growing up..

no, i hear the same song they played earlier that day, and twice the day before, and twice the day before that.
i am SO sick of the radio. i finally put one in my garage and was driving me nuts hearing the SAME 40 songs twice a day every day. how many times a day do they really need to play joan jett's "i cant stop loving you" or her other song. i use to play "sultans of swing" and loved it. they play it so much now i could carre less to hear EVER. my daughter listens to country. i thought the classic rock station was bad, i think their play list is about 10 songs long. |
If I'm driving and I hear a song on the radio (or CD), I will tend to recall where I was driving the last time I heard that song.
