anyway, i do hope we just stay out of it. i also think this administration oughta simply shut up. unless they have warplanes in the air, there shouldn't be anything coming out of their mouths.

The Iranians are already playing the BO administration.

Good advice there NYNOR...that is exactly what Obama should have done..kept his mouth shut. and there is a very good rational for it...

nynor 03-02-2014 06:53 PM

oblamer has already said too much, too many times, too many red lines, and done nothing. he telegraphs his weakness every time he opens his mouth. and it started with his campaign promises: who really thought he'd shut down guantanamo? i'd continue, but we all know the list and depth of his campaign bovinity.

and the iranians have been playing him for months, due to the above. putin is just willing to take it to its logical conclusion.

Sounds familiar to the idle threats that were given back in the days of Churchill...

You mean Neville Chamberlin and his Munich "Peace in our time" sell out of Czechoslovakia in 38. Where Hitler gobbled up Czech. on his way to invading Poland in 39.

Because those charcters are representative of a sizeable part of the Ukrainian government, 5 representatives, and the Kiev demonstrators.

And nobody in the West wants to talk about them!

It's a nice backpedal. I like it.

But look at this - more comparisons to late 1930's central Europe. And the bobbleheads lap it up.

The fools that think that somehow more military presence in eastern Europe means anything. Or that talking (or lack thereof) makes any damn difference.

The empty-headed repetition of blog talking points is particularly pathetic.

i see. so, if we were to get fed up with obama and demand that he step down, things got violent, it would be okay if the UK seized boston and an airport or two on the east coast?

Definitely an issue, I think that any country ought to be ignored that allows those sorts of characters to operate....sort of like these....

Actually, they could have Boston. And Newark.

There was no back pedal in ones estimation. From Post 108 you were being set up..pick apart my posting and you can figure it out.

Simply put the US should put the missile defense system back into Poland and the Czech Republic...We unilaterally took it out so we can unilaterally can put it back.. The Obama gambit of trying to mollify Putin did not work, and if anything has exacerbated the situation as it has shown weakness to a Great White.

The Great White has been embolden by our President's misguided notions of his powers of persuasion. Couple that with the growing decline of the American hegemony due to deficit and debt and you come up with a Putin who is going to fill the power vacuum

If Putin is allowed to grow stronger, and he will bite off a piece at a time, each time growing a bit stronger and bolder. Eventually there may come a day when Europe itself might fall under his sphere of influence. So it would be far less costly to nip him in the bud now rather than later.

The USA is NOT impotent as it has far greater assets and prestige around the globe if only the leadership had the will to use them. President Obama is risk adverse because risk involves emotion and Obama shuns emotion (remember he likes to be cool calm and collected, dispassionate in decision making. When making decisions there is no such thing as being dispassionate as decisions mean taking risk which means an uncertainty which creates emotion. Thus Obama is a poor CIC. Now we are seeing it in full bloom.

Yes, lots of Nazis in the part of the world and Stalin knew it hence the mass murders... 25,000,000 of his own people! Whole extended families simply disappeared.
It must have been killing at a Truly Industrial scale... and no one else in all of recorded history has even come close to this figure.

It seems neo Nazis don't get the press they used to.

Meanwhile... From a less credible news source. The U.S. has Installed a Neo-Nazi Government in Ukraine

It's escalating and it's not looking good.

Gunmen have stormed the Ukraine parliament.

PARF has a thread on this subject.
I suppose it's too much to hope that the trolls & trollees would take their acts over there and leave this thread for ON TOPIC civil discussion. The same for the nazi & nazi baiters.

Stalin made Hitler look mild but he was smarter. No industrial grade death camps there......he STRARVED the Ukranians to death. If you can't see how that is possible, your geography is as lacking as your history.

I just received this message from a Polish friend.
