i hate when i do stuff like this

i was down in charleston a few weeks ago, about a 1.5hr drive and i went to nrothern tool. i bought one of those auto retractable air hoses, except i wanted an orange hose.( the black air hose i have now gets SO dirty and it gets all over my hands). well somehow i picked up a box that had a black one.
so i took it back last saturday , wanted to drive the 930 anyway, and exchanged it. i get home and start to put it up when i realize the fitting is 3/8 instead of 1/4.
after looking and converting, i decided i dont want all the adapters so once again i have to go south 1.5hrs to exchange it.
i even looked over the box to make sure it was the one i wanted. i never thought the 3/8 hose would have a 3/8 fitting instead of a 1/4. (there was a sticker of the details so it was hard to see the fitting info)
i really hate it when i dont notice stuff like that. oh well, i will take some back roads back home again. several trips up to 150 is always fun.

bored at work today. waiting on lunch then 2pm. no one else is really around and who wants to get into something friday afternoon that you dont want to have to finish friday night.

Air hose related:

I was fixing my compressor one Saturday afternoon, replacing one of the gauges, the regulator and the drain valve.

(Of course this was one of those 'optional' projects - the compressor was working fine, I just wanted it to be better..)

Seven. SEVEN! Trips to the hardware store to return and exchange fittings.

The saving grace is, unlike the OP, the hardware store is 6 blocks away.....)

open to any stupid thing anyone does.

but, i DID enjoy the drive.

FITTINGS! dont get me started. MIP, FIP, NPT and who knows what else. then through in something off of a porsche. not gonna be at homedepot.

i made sevreal trips to HD when i ran the PVC over to where i am going to mount the air hose.
not to mention i cut out what put in at least once.

sometimes when i drive by a construction site i see something partially built that is torn up inthe trash pile, makes me feel better to knwo the pro's do it too.
