There is no requirement to see the CHP. I have done this at the local DMV for 2 pre 75 cars when I moved to the state and two > 75 cars. NONE had to go to the CHP. I also would not spend extra money on the AAA unless you are sure they do this service for you (call ahead). All they checked on my cars were the VIN locations against the out of state titles. Bagged the titles and sent me new CA ones. Done.
You can get in and out of the DMV pretty well if you use their online appointment system. The >75 needed smog checks to complete registration. G |
