CZ 175cc, someone needs to slap me...

Wife would kill me...

Someone tell me this is a horrible idea:

1973 CZ 175cc Street Bike

you've come to the wrong place.

porsche4life 06-10-2014 04:52 PM

But it. If she hates you for it, I'll give you a small profit for it. ;)

tevake 06-10-2014 04:58 PM

Looks very cool. Sold with bill of sale. Thinking of only riding off road?

porsche4life 06-10-2014 05:01 PM

Ya I just saw that Richard... I'd want a title.

Think of the cool factor and the gas savings and getting to use the carpool lanes and the dirt-cheap registrations and the ability to park virtually anywhere (including the parking garage at LAX) for free and the ability to split lanes and be immune from traffic jams and insurance bills that cost less than one's monthly Starbucks budget...

Yep, bad idea I tell ya.

;)

Can you put a 175 on the freeway?
Oh, I get it... bill of sale = no pink slip...phew, that was close ;)
I also will presume parts are unobtainable?

I didn't know CZ made a street bike. I remember in the late '80s, CZ made a few dirt bikes that were just like the ones from the early '70s, except they didn't have the expansion chamber underneath the motor. I thought they were cool because they looked like my DT360 with taller forks and longer shocks.

The only downside of no title here is no recourse if it's stolen, and for only $600 some might take the risk. Not a huge demand for 40 year-old small displacement bikes among crooks.

Schumi 06-10-2014 06:55 PM

It's priced either right, or slightly over. No title? I mean, wtf? The owner should apply for a new one.. it takes a bit of paperwork but it would increase the value of the bike by about $400.

Unless someone bought it without a title back in the 80's or 90's and has been riding it illegally for years and just now figures its time to get rid of it... still.. stupid thing to do.

If it had a title, it would be a super fun cafe project. Throw a small seat on there, some clip ons, strip the fenders, etc etc etc.

As-is, I think you're required to wear a jean jacket at all times while riding it.

Z-man 06-10-2014 07:59 PM

want.

craigster59 06-10-2014 08:08 PM

You do know you'd have to change your forum name to "rebelmandue" if you bought it, don't you?

Noah930 06-10-2014 08:12 PM

Jeebsus. If you don't do it, I will.

Porsche-O-Phile 06-10-2014 08:43 PM

I've seen guys riding 250s on the freeways, why not a 175?

Do it... Do it... :)

I'll store it for you. ;)

I have owned the 125cc version of this bike!
It had the exact same look.
When you want to start the bike, you press the gear-shifter in, lift it up and then it is used as the kick-start!

The oil injection pump on mine broke and the piston and cylinder was scored!

The 125cc had 10,5 hp.
If i laid flat on the tank it did 115km/h.

I was 16 at the time!

Regards

Tommy

I give a pass and you can move on it if you are serious.

As much as I love the idea I don't have $600 burning a hole in my pocket plus the cost of a new helmet (presuming my twenty year old Shoei needs to be replaced ;)) and wife and I are not on the best of terms at this moment, blah, blah, blah....

If anything you could buy it, register it, and flip it for a profit... if anyone is interested.

Would be cool to roll up to the coffee shop and park this next to all the Vespa's :D

Hmmm. If that map in the ad is correct, my parents live in the same neighborhood.
