years ago when we use to race bicycles my brothers wife, 5ft nothing and 90lbs, was driving us back down a mountain in her minivan. i was in the back listening to the rear wheels squeeling as she went around the switchbacks. she swears they were not, but i was in the back.

thank goodness for traction control and you might want to check your tires. when my 930 tires were wearing down is was extremely tail happy.

Aside from the fact that more than half of the participants couldn't drive a greasy stick up a dogs arse, just no idea- most of them couldn't even drive a manual/stick car. The one manual Carrera on offer was retired at lunchtime with a fkd clutch.

Instructors told me this was par for the course. It was embarrassing.
Yeah, but was there a light on the dash that blinked on when the clutch was toast?

Mrs. Noah has a Honda minivan as a DD. After about 10 months of ownership, she turned to me one day (while I happened to be driving it) and asked, "What's that "echo" thingie on the dashboard that comes on from time to time?"

"Huh? What echo thingie?" I replied.
"That," she said as she pointed to the little "ECO" light that lit up.
It was the "Economy" light that indicates cylinder deactivation for fuel savings. I happened to be coasting down the street at the time.

Fortunately it wasn't anything serious, but it makes me wonder: when a light goes on on the dashboard, why not try to look it up to figure out what's wrong (or what it's telling you) as opposed to forging ahead?

My wife's new Passat had the check engine light come on and some fuel smell in the garage, generally right after filling the tank. She took it to the dealer, and they said that obviously she was not getting the gas cap on right. Yeah right, she said.

So on a hot day, she filled the tank right next door to the dealer and drove it into the service write-up bay in the building. Where it started piddling fuel. They frantically told her to get the car out of the building. Her comment: keys are in it, it's your problem now.

Definitely made me smile.

If the TC light is going on like that, dont you think that you need new tires?
