R.I.P. Stan

Stan (my beloved 2005 Subaru Outback) was fatally injured during a freak hail storm on May 23rd. He will be put to rest tomorrow around noon when the salvage company picks him up. Following a brief memorial service I will be picking up my new daily driver, a 325Xi. In lieu of flowers donations should be sent to the "Shoe the Bimmers Fund" as I plan on driving this thing like I stole it. It's a hoot to drive but the Porsche will still get first dibs on the garage space.

Sorry for your loss.

You named your car?

I'm curious how many people here name their cars, but that's a different thread.

My wife names cars.

Her Yukon is Cornelius, her Tahoe is "the ho".

All of our pets have 3 names, their given, their native american and their secret super hero name.

Ex, the mastiff was Dakota Rose, aka Dripping Face, aka Poop Head

Everybody knows subarus are lesbians so it xhould have a girls name.

I really love my 06 wrx wagon, but the new wrxs look pretty enticing if you want to go cheap instead of the 325.

Wow - a hailstorm totalled out your car? Was it more than just dings to the horizontal panels? My wife's Yaris got nailed by hailstorm last year, but $1500 to the paintless dent removal guy (covered by insurance) and it's as good as new (well, as good as a Yaris can be anyway....)

HAHAHA! I want a Yukon now! Your wife sounds like a real riot.

Reminds me of my sister's long-ago BF who had a German Shepherd named "Stuka."

PS: Sorry to hear about Stan. I get attached to my cars too, even the blah DDs.

I named my pool robot "Tank" because of the tank treads, and my Roomba "Rosie" after the Jetson's robot maid.

My wife named our car Steve. It is a bright blue Avenger.

That's rough. I wouldn't wish that on a Honda.

We named the Subie Stan because it seemed to fit for some reason. The hail storm was epic. Golf ball size and above. The damage estimate was $6900. Every panel of the car was dented. It was like a war zone. Most cars also had windows blow out.

My truck's name is "the truck" and I call it "the truck".

But my wife calls it "your truck" and that's a good thing.
