![]() I actually tried to order my car earlier in the week. but they are doing a delayed release on the one that I want. They still haven't officially announced the price on the 2015 models yet either.

Those are slow ETs for 707hp, which likely translates to 650whp.

Evidently a Challenger can run with the lightweights. Wasn't even the SRT.
http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2009/07/review-2009-dodge-challenger-rt-track-pack I was so disappointed in the R/T’s track ability that I borrowed a 19911.6-liter Miata on Falken Azenis tires and staged a two-car race with a fellow NASA instructor and Time Trial competitor. Could the Challenger pass the Miata in a series of six single-lap “battles”? The Internet’s conventional wisdom: the little Mazda would handily hold off the fat, slouchy Dodge. In the real world, I murdered the Miata. I blasted by the Elan-like roadster every time in the straight between Turns Three and Four, before trail-braking and grinding the sidewalls all the way down the entrance to Four. And a review of it on the track. Review: 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT “Hellcat” 6MT | The Truth About Cars That said, for a car that can haul you and 4 friends to the track and run low 11s for $60k it is remarkable that it was built. Certainly not a perfect track car but perfectly competent. Would I buy one, no. But then I have a roadster with 6lb/hp to play with. A pentastar convertible? Would trade our daily driver in a heartbeat.

I'm not very impressed that a $40k new car with 4x the HP can beat a 23 year old $4k Miata. Stupid comparison from a terrible blog.

Here's an equal comparison: Take $5000, add it to horsepower on a Miata, Hellcat loses every time.
![]() The host of Fast n Loud was at an NHRA Top Fuel event this past weekend where they ran a '70 Hemi Cuda vs. Hellcat. Hellcat killed the Hemi, like 12 car lengths type death, but only ran a 12.1. So, I'm thinkning your average Joe will probably be getting these to run 12.4-11.90 in a "test n tune" type event.

This article sums it up pretty well.
It's not trying to be a Porsche 911 track car, nor even wants to be compared to the mullet wearing Camaro/Mustang trailer park crowd. https://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/driving-the-707-hp-dodge-challenger-srt-hellcat--the-world-s-fastest-muscle-car-132743182.html

Be interesting to see it go up against one of FM's V8 Miata's.

I just watched the Jay Leno clip on the Hellcat. Very cool especially the electronics. I'm not in the market for an American sportscar since I'm obviously a Porsche guy but if there was a Ram Hellcat truck, I'd buy one tomorrow.

Of course that engine will be available in crate and/or salvage form soon. After that, it will only take a pile of money to put it in whatever you want. There are groups in Burnsville, MN and Missoula, MT that put all sorts of Mopar engines in new Jeeps. I'd think they'll be near the front of the line for an engine and electronics for a swap.

I believe that's true but the inspiration, engineering and intended market was the U.S.. Almost everything sold here is assembled somewhere else in the world. If one is going to only purchase or appreciate vehicles/products assembled in the country where they reside, it's going to get pretty boring really quick.

Saw these out testing this morning: Hellcats, 392 Hemis, Scat Packs, etc. About 15 total in the caravan. The one under the cover in the 1st pic and disguised in the 2nd pic appears to be the new Charger Hellcat (it sounded the part). There was also a 300 of some sort in disguise with giant Brembos.
