Back in a Porsche!!!
 

I picked up my Boxster today. If you missed my other threads, it's #99 of 1960 of the 2008 Boxster RS60 Spyder with only 21k miles. GT Silver paint, Carrera Red full leather interior, Boxster S, PASM, Sport Chrono, sport exhaust, sport seats, climate control, optional hardtop, litronic headlights, 19" Sport Design wheels, Sport Design front lip spoiler, full red taillights. It's very nice. I love how the PASM and sport exhaust allow me to drive with the missus in comfort or crank up the fun and volume when I want or when she's not in the car. It has plenty of torque for driving sedately or is a bunch of fun to flog. It's a Porsche certified preowned car so i've got 2 years of warranty.
we made the 4 hour drive back from Dallas mostly with the cruise on. The missus mostly slept for the trip. We were up late and got up early for the flight.

The only small glitch is that today about halfway back, my wife changed positions and noticed that the back edges of here jeans were wet. The passenger's side floor board was soaking wet. I hadn't noticed during our test drive earlier. I figure it's either due to the AC drain being clogged and the water running into the passenger's footwell or the water was in the footwell under the seat and due to my driving and moving around it had redistributed to the front. The sales guy did mention that they had a bunch of rain which is why several of the traffic lights around the dealer were out today.

I'm glad I've got the warranty. I'll be taking it to the dealer tomorrow so they can dry the carpets out and figure out where the water is coming from. It sucks to pick it up and then have to drop it off again. I'm sure it'll end up taking a week to sort out.

Congrats!!!! Hope the water issue is minor. I often think my lady would feel more at home in a more modern, less "smelly" and more "comfy" Porsche than my current 82 SC. Hope it gives you years of trouble free and fun motoring!

Just kidding, sounds like an awesome car

I thought my old '88 targa was great. Towards the end of the time that I had it, it had gotten a bit smelly because of an oil leak, but I thought it was very comfortable to ride in. It's come out today and in the last week or so of looking at more modern Porsches, that she thought it was absolutely not comfy in the slightest. But this new one with the PASM is actually very comfy, and she likes the sport seats. And, I can turn the sport button on when I was less civilized. The difference in exhaust note and ride is more than I expected which is awesome. I've read somewhere that the PASM suspension in soft mode is softer than a non-S boxster/cayman, and in sport mode is firmer than an S when the driving and road calls for it.

I'm going to get that up and online this week. It's attractive and fun to drive, but can't begin to compare to the Boxster.

I've bought two cars CPO from Porsche, and my experience was excellent both times.

Changed my phone to low res mode the other day and forgot to bump it back up today. Some other cool stuff that was at the dealer. They had a bellows bumper car with two-tone Fuchs, I think it may have been a pre-SC, that they were installing a new wiring harness in. I've been surprised by several things. I had an '88 911 targa. The top was not quiet (much more so after Dan Petchel restored it, but still...) or water tight. I then moved on to 2 different miata, both were quite loud at speed top up or down. I was amazed by how tight and quiet the boxster soft top is. I drove the car this morning first with the soft top up. I didn't bother with the top down. I will eventually drive it with the top down, but usually only early morning (I try to never be awake early morning) or in the evening after sundown when it's cool. Anyway, the soft top is extremely quiet, and from inside the car, you felt like you were in something with a metal roof. I then drove the car with the hard top on and it was also quiet, but I don't know that it was that much more quiet. The tops on this thing are excellent!

The sound, oh my, the sound. When cruising at a steady speed, it's very quiet inside, but if you roll into the throttle a bit, the sound is quite glorious and that's without the sport exhaust enabled. With the sport option enabled, spectacular, especially with the windows down.
