Had My Ignition Switch Recall Completed
This past Thursday I took the HHR to the closest Chevy dealer, Ron Baker Chevy in National City CA to do the recall. It took 2 months to get my parts and it seems it is an all day job, UNLESS you schedule it for Thursday afternoons when it can be completed in an hour or less??! So I went down a bit early and they took my baby away with Ry Cooder blasting on the Pioneer head unit. A few minutes later a dealer rep came into the waiting room and announced "the food is ready out back". So out I went and to my surprise they were grilling hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hot dogs with sodas, water and chips! A young lady said to sit down and rest and she would get me a burger and such and I guess because I was using my cane. Great food and just as I finished my car came back, even washed off which surprised me! The service rep said they do that every Thursday and try to make the customers feel a little better about GM's screw up.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1408815676.jpg

Great experience compared to the usual. I guess Baker is involved in community activities in the area too, which is also a plus for him & his organization.

Yours looks a lot nice than the horrible ones I rented. Sounds like a decent dealer.

I work for a GM dealer on busy RT22 in North NJ.
Ignition recall parts are VIN specific hence the long wait for parts to ship. Some vehicles get just keys (30 min), some get ignition switch, cylinder, keys etc (90 MIN) We wash EVERY car that comes through the shop, and on Saturdays customers are welcome to complimentary lunch with us !! |
The Chevrolet scripts on the hood are so 3100. ;)
