not defending rape or death threats, thats absurd and unbecoming. nope right out of that.

but depression quest was ****ing stupid, and everyone knew it. this is another example (just like aninta sarkeesian) of a woman claiming sexism when she gets a negative response from men. no, its not sexism, your game was ****ing stupid, thats why people didn't like it. and you sleeping with folks in order for it to be reviewed positively is despicable. THATS why you get the negative feedback, not because of sexism or the fact that your women, because your game was dumb, and you cheated the system to try and promote it.

meet a man who got a negative response from the gaming community (yes, including death threats) for exactly the same reason, because he was wrong. not because he was a man, but because he was demonstrably false in his claims. where were the calls for sexism when gamers made "i hate jack thompson" tee shirts? what would anita and zoe say if gamers made "i hate zoe" tee shirts? how fast would that be called sexism? nope. nope. nope.

Hmm - can you substantiate those claims? According to the article link above, those claims were proved to be false after they were investigated...

Depression Quest may not be your idea of a game you would enjoy, and it may have been a stupid game - but media - all media, including gaming sends a message, including First person shooters. And Depression Quest may have reached some folks struggling with Depression in a way no other venue could have...

I'm not a gamer - and I have no stake in this -- but something's out of wack in this whole story...

depression quest was not targeted nor intended for the depressed, if it was, that would be awful as it was an even more depressing game and no kidding, that would be a bad bad bad decision for a depressed person to play.

depression quest was made so that non-depressed people could feel like they were depressed. yeah, not kidding. that was the point. i mean seriously .... like seriously. who wants to play a "game" designed to make you feel like ****? no one, thats who.

and thats why it was rejected by potential customers. not even because the blogs about the developers private life, but because the game was awful and no one wanted to play it.

Wow, suddenly a lot is explained.
