So true!!! We are either our best friends or worst enemies sometimes... Poor guy had been down there nearly three days. Divers thought they were on a body recovery mission.

Outstanding video...great save. As first responders we train and practice for all the worst case scenarios when it all comes together and you are able to make such a difference in someones life the feeling is beyond description. Hats off to the cook he was terrified but didn't panic, loved hearing the calmness of the man on the radio but you could also hear how happy he was to save this mans life.

One can only begin to imagine being trapped in the cold and total darkness for three days. I guess one resigns himself to the likelihood that you're just sitting there waiting to die a slow cold death. Then seeing a light coming at you from under the water. What a range of emotion that must trigger.
