No driveway?

DUK 11-26-2014 04:50 AM

Going brick all the way up.

And just gravel driveway right now. Waiting for spring to do the exterior concrete work.

I see a flaw in your garage...

It's not at my house!

One thing I thought about when reading what you were saying about corrugated steel on the roof is heat reflection. Will you be heating the garage in the winter? The steel on the roof might help reflect the rising heat back a little bit, making your heating more efficient. Just a thought.

Wow, you've got room for about 1,500 cars!

Looking good.

That is what I'm thinking also Christien.

Lots of corrugated steel will be really noisy, if it matters to ya.

DUK 11-27-2014 02:29 PM

Thanks Jeremy. I am taking that into consideration. I have decided to put 8' sections on the ceiling along with 9' sections of wood paneling. And 4' of the steel at the bottom of the walls with 6' of wood above that. Thinking it will help some of the noise.

Thoughts?

Did manage to spread some gravel today. Waiting on inspections and doors.

Installed the LED lights today. Holy cow are they bright. This is just one, I ended up with three of them.

Just a thought with regards to the steel panelling.

You might want to do a little research on the moisture effect of using steel versus wood paneling.

By using steel I believe that you could create a humidity or sweating problem, whereas with wood the humidity will be much lower. I'm not sure if this is a concern in your area or not.

I was told the insulation behind the steel panels will help the sweating issue. We have these same panels in our barn and they did just that. Put some insulation behind them and it stopped.

Looking good.. A friend is selling his house, he has a pretty nice size shop too:Dhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1417923322.jpg

I wanted to build a 3600 sq. ft. shop, but our county only allows the garage/shop to be as big or smaller than the main dwelling. :(

An update for the holidays. Waiting on doors, should be here next week.
