As many of you may remember, my wonderful wife, Donna, of 31 amazing years being married, had breast cancer a decade ago. She is doing fine now, but not without the wonderful research that has been put into it. It used to be a butcher job, these days women who have been afflicted with this terrible problem can live normal, and cosmetically amazing lives. But more importantly we need to find a cure and save the Tatas! As Porsche/BMW owners we all know that prevention is way better than dealing with issues after the fact!!!
My daughter is running the NYC Marathon in tribute to her mom. If you can support her in any way, financially, I would be very grateful. I travel a lot for work and I'll bet I've met 100 Pelicans or more. ALL of them struck me as incredibly kind and generous. Here is a post from Stacy's blog on this, with a link to contribute. Thanks so much. "Hi all! For those of you who don't know, I'm running the New York City Marathon on November 1st, 2014. This is my second marathon ever (first was LA in 2012) and my first before my son's first birthday! Training for this event, with a 6-11 month old, has been one of the hardest things I've ever done!!! I do not have a nanny or caregiver, so I ran most of training runs early in the mornings (most mornings at 2 or 3am!!) while my husband and baby slept. I would get home at 5:30 or 6, and jump right into a full day of baby, dog, family, and house. I worked hard to maintain our family lifestyle while training, including cooking healthy, nutritious meals, keeping a clean house, and even purchasing, furnishing, and managing a new home right in the middle of training! I'm hoping to translate all of the hard work I have put into the marathon into a very good cause that is near and dear to my heart. I will never forget the day, 10 years ago, when my mom told me she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a complete shock and changed my life forever. From that point on, I would never look at health, fitness, the power of positive thinking, and family the same again. My mom is now cancer free after a mastectomy and complete reconstruction. Please donate what you can! I will be running every single step of this marathon with the good thoughts and positive energy of so many millions of women, men, and children nationwide who will be diagnosed, treated for, die from, or know someone affected by breast cancer. Thank you so much!!! ABOUT THE BREAST CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION® (BCRF):.
