Bobcat warranty

Bought a new Bobcat tractor ct 122 3 cylinder diesel and went to use it the other day and found the crank case full of diesel. Called the Bobcat dealer and was told they would cover parts under warranty but not the labour. I have never heard of such a warranty. Anybody else have any experience with sort of thing. I know this doesn't relate to my 930 but thought you might be able to help shed some light on the issue.

I would complain a lot louder, that is ridiculous. Especially if it is brand spanking new.

I would think the warranty information would be in your owners manual.

Sorry! Most guys I know in the trades don't purchase or do business with Bobcat because service from them stinks. Get rid of that thing if you can and get a Takeuchi from what I hear is the one to have with service too.

Maybe try calling Bobcat corporate? If labor isn't expressly excluded from the warranty, I would make a stink. Turn them into the BBB if you have to.

Just an FYI your bobcat tractor is a Koiti SmileWavy

Thanks for the imput. Funny thing about looking for info on the warranty is there is no mention of it in all the paper work you get from Bobcat. I did find on line that it has a 3 year power train warranty but I have never heard of one that only covers the parts. I do believe I am being played. Maybe there is some double billing going on.

Can't speak for Bobcat, but I've experienced warranties that are incremental in coverage meaning, the early part (say within one year) covers parts and labor but later cover only parts. These usually applied to large appliances and major automotive repairs. Since your purchase is "new", I would think you'd have full coverage of parts and labor. Just how new is your tractor? Could be you have a 30 day full warranty and parts only after that. If so, that's a pretty strong indictment of the quality of the tractor.

Best to investigate as you are doing and find the actual warranty for your tractor. You could very well have been played.

Now the Bobcat dealer is telling me that it has a 3year driveline warranty but that does not include the engine. I had to laugh out loud at him. I can tell you I won't be buying anything from this dealer again. Called another dealer in another town and he just told me to bring it in and they would take care of it. You would think that Bobcat would hold these dealers accountable.
