Why the hate for this car? At least it's original and very Porsche like considering it's driving ability.

I'd choose this over any BMW or Benz right now.
Even Hyundai are showing more originality than the two "Germans".

Agree. Don't understand the naysayers. I really like it. Doesn't look like every "egg" shaped sedan on the road, unique and tastefully athletic looking. Would love to have one in the garage.

I autocrossed the GTS (with three passengers) at a Porsche event a few weeks ago. They sound and drive great. I wouldn't think twice about buying one if I were stupid rich.

Because it's ugly.

You apologists can make all the excuses you want. It's still ugly, and not in a "cool" way. It's the Aztek of the Porsche brand.

The Jag styling is sublime. It's heartbreaking that I just said that.

If I had a dog that looked like that, I'd shave his ass and teach him to walk backwards.

And yes, I know it drives like a bat out of hell. Why couldn't they have made it beautiful??

The Jag is a good looking car, but that's an Aston Martin, a better looking car.

I've been on Laguna Seca in a new Panamera driven in anger and it was stunning, especially considering its heft. I don't have the strong dislike for this car that many have, to the opposite on the street they look pretty good to me.

Most every new Porsche design or iteration that comes out seems to bring out the worst in people - only to have broader acceptance over time. Yes, I know some of you will always hate it. I hated the Pacer, my dad thought it was great. I still don't like it, but I was never a potential buyer.

That's why there is chocolate and vanilla, everyone likes a different flavor. So long as the people with the coin buy your flavor, it does not matter if it is not to your liking.

Technically the Panamera is the only Porsche sedan ever.

I went to Carmax and found that the cheapest base models were going for 50k. It was a 75k car so more like 2/3rds. I would consider buying one if it was half price.
I went to Carmax locally and saw a 2011 4S with 18,000 miles on it for $62,988 not three weeks ago. And it was loaded listed for $124K. That's pretty much half price. It was cheap enough I was actually considering it- until the wife stepped in.

There are 18 of them on Carmax today. Ranging from the 50s to the mid 80s (a 2013 Turbo S). I agree the lower optioned ones are holding their values better than the fully optioned- but the latter are going to half their retail price after three years or more. So if you really want to buy one at half price they're there.

Not suprising german uber sedans are always have the steepest depreciation curves.

I don't dislike the panamera any more than any other bloated giant car, but I still dont get it. Just buy a "normal" 80k luxury car and sports car. I cant image these cars get driven enthusiastically very often.

It is impressive they cah run 1/4 miles in the high 11s, but I dont understand the point. I guess it is so senior VPs can impress their lunch clients on the freeway occasionally.

When I bought my car back in Aug, the guy from the dealer that picked us up at the airport picked us up in a Panamera Exec edition. It was very nice inside and it seemed like the ride/performance would be pretty nice if you were behind the wheel. If you were looking for a big Merc or Bimmer to haul people around in comfort, this seems like it would be a good alternative.
