How are these trolls benefiting?

A new one popped up today from "pelicaman" wanting to buy a dog.

There's been a couple more where someone asks a generic question about a hypothetical Porsche.

Then, of course, is the consonant-heavy user name parroting a line from a previous post.

If I click on or answer his question what information is he harvesting?

Someone here explained it to me that there is a 1 pixel jpg in the message that counts as a site hit every time the message is viewed.

Does not appear to be the case with this guy.

So far it's just odd posting behavior.

If there is a tracking jpg, we delete the entire post. These new posters are not embedding any links or images so I haven't deleted them. Could be bots but I don't know what the angle is.

He is offering a commercial service in his sig line. I thought that was not allowed. I could be mistaken.

He was asked nicely to remove the commercial, he didn't so now he is banned

By the way, reporting the spam when these individuals post is appreciated, but please don't quote them, it just spreads the infection
