The return of Piloti Driving shoes

Piloti USA - Casual Shoe Collection | Speed Crue LLC
The driving shoe specialist went out of business in 2012, but was bought out of bankruptcy and given a frame-off restoration by retail giant Canadian Tire, which relaunched it earlier this year. Apparently the executive suites at CT are chock full of car enthusiasts who couldn’t stand to see it get black flagged for good. They won’t be sold through Canadian Tire outlets, just online and through an expanding group of niche retailers that includes car dealerships and driving schools.

Nice! Thanks for the info. I always thought they were cool shoes.

Cool stuff...but holy smokes, expensive stuff. Hard to pay $40 for a T-shirt or a cap....

They've been out for a few months now. I got a pair for the helluvit as I had some from the original company for like 10 years, which I actually used as my racing shoes, and they were quite comfortable vs. other brands and looked nice. However, note that the new ones out now are not nomex or suitable for competition. There is supposed to be a competition line coming in another month or two but the styling is very different compared to the originals.

Damn! I hoarded my prototipos for nothing! I have 3 pair. Kept catching sales after they wetnt under.

Edit, the performance collection looks pretty similar to the old racing shoes..

I got a set of black and orange prototipos for $25 online many years ago. I really like them for fun runs and paddock shoes. I wouldn't want to replace them for $150! That's nuts.

It's too bad they're still fugly.
I received a pair for Christmas, years ago. Blue and yellow... couldn't bear to wear them.

I had two pair.... wore one pair out and still have one good pair. Love these shoes !
I tried the Puma Driving shoes... do not like. I will be buying another pair of the Pilotis
yea, the buck 50 price is quite abit more...but, you cant get a better shoe for less.

I love my Pilotis- I'm wearing them right now, in fact....

Looks like they fixed the business model. Same shoes, $50 more expensive... I have a several pairs, none is worth $150.

Nah, thats nothing compared to my red racing clogs. :)

Wow, I bought several pairs at the CA Speedway at a vintage race years ago for $10 each as the folks selling them said the company was shutting down and they wanted to get rid of their inventory. I still have two pair I have never worn!

I loved my Piloti Monacos, they were Nomex lined and looked good enough to wear to work (no orange or purple, and no big ugly name across the toes...)

I do like the new leather boots, but DAYUM, there is no boot worth $450...
